Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo snubs Manchester United move in near future

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo reckons Manchester United will emerge as the best in England at the end of the season. The Portuguese football icon, who is being linked to a shocking move to Manchester United, believes his former club will steal the Premier League title from archrivals Manchester City.

Manchester United sold Cristiano Ronaldo to his dream club Real Madrid for a world record transfer fee of £80 million in 2009. Since then the 27-year-old forward has been on a goal-scoring spree for Real Madrid. Presently, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 165 goals in 164 appearances for Los Blancos.

In spite of having scored 19 goals in 20 appearances for Real Madrid this season, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly still ‘unhappy’ at Santiago Bernabeu.

Cristiano Ronaldo just recently revealed that he and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho had a secret meet-up with Sir Alex Ferguson last Wednesday when the La Liga champions were in town for their Champions League game against Manchester United’s archrivals Manchester City.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been tipped to lift his 20th Premier League title this season, could name his successor at the end of the season. Rife rumors suggest the race will be between former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. If Jose Mourinho comes under consideration then the chances of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United will increase tenfold.

Cristiano Ronaldo believes the English Premier League is still the “most competitive” league in the world. The Portugal international also claimed that there were no transfer talks between Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho when they met up.

“There are three or four teams who can win the league – that is why it is the most competitive in the world,” Cristiano Ronaldo said. “I think United will do it this year and win their title back.”

Talking about the transfer rumors suggesting his return to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo declared that there was transfer talk between Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho. Nonetheless, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t his happiness upon returning to his old home.

“We didn’t speak about me coming back to the Premier League, though,” Cristiano Ronaldo said. “Sir Alex came to the hotel to speak with Jose Mourinho – it was nice to see him.

“I loved coming back to the city. When we arrived at the airport, I was so happy. I’m always happy to be here,” Cristiano Ronaldo added.
